Our Story

Pioneering a Vision

The founders of Lucinez have a vision for improving how we educate activists.

  • We believe that the pandemic created an opportunity for activists to access affordable and convenient online learning through advancements in technology and an overall increase in proficiency with computers.

  • We respect the traditional, on-the-job training methods that are proven to build strong skills, and we can complement that education with online learning.

  • We trust that the knowledge of subject matter experts can be shared with a larger audience using an online platform.

Evolution to Educators

The founders of Lucinez became educators.

  • We developed professional development programs at nonprofit organizations, labor unions, and political action committees.

  • We established departments designed to build leadership, staff, and membership skills.

  • We provided organizational guidance on strategic planning and campaign implementation.

Our Background

The founders of Lucinez forged a collaboration in the labor movement as organizers.

  • We tested out our first organizing conversations at worksites in the farmlands of Napa County and in public schools of San Diego County.

  • We bargained our first contracts at tables for homecare and public school workers.

  • We executed our first contract campaigns by participating in planning sessions and carrying out our to-do lists towards victory.
